JDS Networking was started by Joseph D. Smith, who has been serving the Huntington, Charleston, Ashland, Ironton and surrounding Tri-State areas since 1988. Joe decided to form JDS Networking to provide the area with high quality and dependable computer service & support. Striving to provide honest work at fair prices, he is known to talk clients out of sales when there isn’t a need. We strive to build long term relationships with clients, not quick sales to one time customers!
Joe has worked with everything from DOS 2.0 through Windows 2008 Enterprise Server. He also extensive experience, training and certifications with GroupWise and Exchange Email servers, WatchGuard & Cisco firewalls, Remote Access & VPN Technology, Network Security, Wireless integration, hardware repair & upgrades, and much more...
Joe was one of the first Novell NetWare CNE’s in West Virginia, certified in 1992 with NetWare 3.0 while working at The Computer Store of WV, Inc. Since then many more certifications have been added to his list of achievements: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Exchange Server 2003, NetWare 4, NetWare 5, NetWare 6, A+ Hardware and others.
